Li'tya - Kakadu Plum for Men

Li’tya Pure Australian Botanicals, recently named ‘Best Spa Supplier - Product’ in the Australian Spa Association (ASPA) Spas of Excellence Awards, have added two new products to their men’s grooming range, Kakadu Plum Shave Foam and Kakadu Plum Aftershave Gel.
Marketing their botanical products as ‘spa care from the Australian Dreamtime’, Li’tya – an Aboriginal word meaning ‘of the earth’ – proudly uses a range of organic native Australian ingredients. Both the Kakadu Plum Shave Foam and the Kakadu Plum Aftershave Gel have a pleasant, masculine fragrance that is not at all overpowering like many supermarket bands. And with both of these products, a little goes a long way: you only need about the size of a twenty-cent coin’s worth of either product.
Li’tya Kakadu Plum Shave Foam is different to many other men’s shaving products in that it has more of a creamy texture, and is suitable for sensitive skin. You easily work the foam between your wet fingers to form a light lather that you then apply to your beard and skin. As with most non-aerosol shave foams, it’s best to shave in long, slow strokes to get the closest shave without nicks.  The foam provides good coverage and works very well on both light and heavy beard.
Li’tya Kakadu Plum Aftershave Gel is a great way to follow the shave foam. When you first apply the gel it is slightly bracing. Don’t let that put you off, though, because in a couple of moments the cooling and refreshing qualities of the gel kick in with a pleasant, tingling sensation. Most men don’t take the time to follow up with an aftershave gel, but this product is highly recommended to help calm your skin after shaving and to prevent redness.
Guys will enjoy the practicalities of these two shaving products if nothing else! They each come in a classy black tube with a convenient, flip-top lid that makes them easy to stand up at the sink. They are also perfect to take when travelling; the tubes aren’t heavy or bulky, the lids are quite secure and you don’t have to worry about pressurized cans in your carry-on luggage. Best of all, both of these Li’tya products give good value for money in that they last for several months before you need to restock.
Li’tya donates a portion of profits from their products to the Bunjil Foundation, which assists the Indigenous People of Australia, and all of their range comes with the ‘Choose Cruelty Free’ endorsement. This means that you can choose items from their wide range, safe in the knowledge that they don’t test on animals or use any animal by-products, except sustainable items like bees wax, honey and mother of pearl shell.

Skin Juice - SHINE Resurfacing Skin Brightener

Clean, clear orange writing on a sleek, circular fresh white bottle – looking good so far Skin Juice!
Shine is a resurfacing product which, with the combination of papain enzyme and whitami, helps to brighten the skin by smoothing and exfoliating. Also contains an exclusive radiant complexion active, a fusion of extracts from hokkai toki; bofu; stabilised vitamin C; lipoic acid; papain enzyme; white clay and titanium dioxide. Skin Juice are also keen to point out that this is a safe product to use, with no harmful side effects. I’m very reassured by this statement – its noticeably absent from some similar products on the market!
Light reflective micro particles help to visually illuminate the skin while diffusing skin irregularities and the appearance of dark pigmented areas. A very useful product for the Australian climate!
The product is a smooth, cream coloured emulsion dispensed by an easy to use pump. With a slightly unusual smell, it nevertheless glides on to the skin effortlessly. I’ve been using this product for two weeks now – I have quite a dull looking skin, but Shine by Skin Juice is beginning to take effect. I have noticed a brightness emerging, most noticeable first thing in the morning when usually my skin is not at it best!

Shine_Resurfacing_Skin_Brightener_50First impressions count and Shine Resurfacing Skin Brightener is clean and clear with orange writing on a sleek, circular fresh white bottle – looking good so far Skin Juice!

Skin Juice - Aqua Body Oil

AQUA OIL
Hydrating Body Oil
I loved the clean, clear design of the bottle containing the Aqua oil.  White, with grey lettering, it’s a nice stream lined bottle with the added benefit of a pump, which let’s face it, is worth its weight in gold – I wish more companies would follow their lead! It’s sooo much easier and results in less waste of a beautiful product.
Aqua Oil by Skin Juice has a gorgeous light fragrance to it - that’ll be the blend of pomegranate, red raspberry and arctic cranberry - perfect for summer! I love the aromatherapy angle to this product too – a blend “to calm and revive”

Skin_Juice_Aqua_Oil_Skin Juice is a new range of spa products and treatments taking the Australian spa scene by storm so we thought it was about time we checked them out..Spa Detective Emma accepted the mission...

endota Fitzroy, VIC

I was lucky enough to receive an endota Clarity voucher as a Christmas present this year and no sooner had my holidays ended and I was back at work than I was on the phone to book in for my treatment.
My Clarity voucher entitled me to a 30 minute neck, back and shoulder massage which was perfect for a lunchtime escape. Deceptive from the outside, endota Fitzroy is a bit of a tardis. Housing five treatment rooms and a small but perfectly formed lounge area, the day spa is on Johnston St just far enough away from the Brunswick St buzz. The double treatment room which was allocated to me would have been perfect for a couple’s treatment complete with the biggest spa bath I have ever seen, dimmed lighting and all the oils and creams discreetly hidden away in beautiful cabinetry.
I have heard it said that day spas aren’t the place to go for a really really good massage, for those some believe you need to visit a good old fashioned masseuse with none of the bells and whistles of a spa. However I am a great believer that its all about the therapist. Not every therapist can be awesome at everything but my therapist at endota Fitzroy was an extremely talented masseuse.
In consultation beforehand I had advised that between my shoulder blades was particularly bothersome and that I liked a medium pressure. The therapist checked the pressure twice during the massage and both times I felt it was perfectly on the high side of medium. I really felt that she was working my poor shoulders and not just giving them a bit of a rub. The heat bags which had been initially placed on the centre of my back and on my lower back to warm up my muscles were then placed on my calves which was so relaxing it just about sent me to sleep.
30 minutes went on forever and just when I thought it was close to being all over I still had another 10 minutes left!
This was the perfect way to spend a lunchtime, although I can’t claim to have been particularly productive at work that afternoon.
One of the things I like most about endota spas is that you know what you are going to get. Generally speaking the quality of the spas and their rooms are of a really high standard, the treatment menus have little variation and the therapists are trained in the same manner. Whereas for a seasoned Spa Seeker this can be a little boring, for many people this is very reassuring and makes endota a good bet when buying gift vouchers.
