endota Fitzroy, VIC

I was lucky enough to receive an endota Clarity voucher as a Christmas present this year and no sooner had my holidays ended and I was back at work than I was on the phone to book in for my treatment.
My Clarity voucher entitled me to a 30 minute neck, back and shoulder massage which was perfect for a lunchtime escape. Deceptive from the outside, endota Fitzroy is a bit of a tardis. Housing five treatment rooms and a small but perfectly formed lounge area, the day spa is on Johnston St just far enough away from the Brunswick St buzz. The double treatment room which was allocated to me would have been perfect for a couple’s treatment complete with the biggest spa bath I have ever seen, dimmed lighting and all the oils and creams discreetly hidden away in beautiful cabinetry.
I have heard it said that day spas aren’t the place to go for a really really good massage, for those some believe you need to visit a good old fashioned masseuse with none of the bells and whistles of a spa. However I am a great believer that its all about the therapist. Not every therapist can be awesome at everything but my therapist at endota Fitzroy was an extremely talented masseuse.
In consultation beforehand I had advised that between my shoulder blades was particularly bothersome and that I liked a medium pressure. The therapist checked the pressure twice during the massage and both times I felt it was perfectly on the high side of medium. I really felt that she was working my poor shoulders and not just giving them a bit of a rub. The heat bags which had been initially placed on the centre of my back and on my lower back to warm up my muscles were then placed on my calves which was so relaxing it just about sent me to sleep.
30 minutes went on forever and just when I thought it was close to being all over I still had another 10 minutes left!
This was the perfect way to spend a lunchtime, although I can’t claim to have been particularly productive at work that afternoon.
One of the things I like most about endota spas is that you know what you are going to get. Generally speaking the quality of the spas and their rooms are of a really high standard, the treatment menus have little variation and the therapists are trained in the same manner. Whereas for a seasoned Spa Seeker this can be a little boring, for many people this is very reassuring and makes endota a good bet when buying gift vouchers.
